The School was founded in March 1993 and has steadily grown into it's
present size of a around 120 private lessons per week with a further 50
improver and advanced pupils taking group lessons each week.
There are several teachers working in the School,
with my two daughters giving lessons when they are at home. We also train
prospective teachers who I hope will become qualified and so teach within the
School. This training usually takes place during group sessions. A recent teacher training course has resulted in 7 new teachers in the school and we have now been able to expand the number of lessons available. Our current
list is as below:
- Lesley Evered AIST/AISC(a)
- Jessica Evered AIST
- Kirsty Evered AIST
- Angela Smerdon AIST
- Sam Mitchell AIST
- Christine Morgan AIST
- Sue Gunn AIST(A)

The aim of the School is to provide a happy and safe environment in
which to teach pupils to swim and enjoy all aspects of water skills pertaining
to swimming. Pupils may take lessons from age rising 3 and there is no upper
age limit on those wishing to learn or improve their skills. The oldest learner
in the school, to date, was 85 years old. All the teachers in the School are
gentle but firm in their approach and young children are taught through play as
well as with discipline. Discipline also plays a big part in the group sessions
but, again, we introduce games where appropriate to the teaching.
Each year we hold a Summer School in August. Holiday lessons are held
on mornings throughout August for one-to-one pupils. Every year
there is a party for Junior swimmers and a rather more adult dinner party for
Senior and Adult swimmers. Both of these culminate with annual prizegiving. We
have also, from time to time, held fun galas and outings.
